Melbourne, 1 October 2020 – This year, widespread disruption to public health has seen an upsurge in digital transformation projects. This has kickstarted a shift towards a technology-enabled, evolving care model, which is expected to accelerate over the next five to 10 years. In response to an increased demand for digital health specialists, RMIT Online, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), today announces the launch of its Graduate Certificate in Digital Health.
The postgraduate program will offer clinicians and health service managers world-class education to help upskill and to improve patient care through digital health initiatives.
This most recent offering signals an expansion to RMIT Online’s existing health portfolio, which includes a suite of short courses launched earlier in the year. Also involved in the development of the Graduate Certificate in Digital Health is Australia’s largest ehealth company, Telstra Health, and Digital Health CRC. Helen Souness, CEO at RMIT Online said the new postgraduate course signals RMIT Online’s commitment to ensuring the future and viability of Australia’s healthcare sector.
"Integrating technology into patient care and involving patients in the design of future health services will have a significant impact on the future of not only Australia’s healthcare industry but the health of all Australians. That is what this course intends to teach.”
Vincent Quah, APAC Regional Head for Education, Healthcare, and Non-Profits, Worldwide Public Sector, Amazon Web Services, added, “We commend RMIT Online in developing new course content on Digital Health that leverages AWS cloud technology for health and education in meeting the fast growing demands for the healthcare industry. We believe continuous health innovation helps navigate through any pandemic with greater resilience and better prepared to respond to disruption, and we are pleased to work with RMIT Online in developing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
The course will be credentialed by RMIT University.
