Module 1

Evolving project management methods and skills in complex and changing systems

  • Learn about the evolution of project management and systems thinking in the modern world of VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity)
  • Understand the value of project management and its difference to product management
  • Be introduced to major methodologies of project management including waterfall, Agile, Scrum, PMBOK, Lean, Kanban, and PRINCE2.

Module 2

Effectively initiating and mobilising projects

  • Explore the importance of project narratives and how storytelling relates to a project charter
  • Deep dive into project charters, and examine a project’s scope, risks, budget, team, and deliverables
  • Mobilise your project with software, tools, and templates

Module 3

Communicating with and motivating stakeholders and project teams

  • Understand the elements of what makes an effective project work environment including your team, related stakeholders, communication, purpose, diversity, and clarity
  • Discover the elements of a good
  • team and explore servant leadership, psychological safety, and contributors to high performing teams
  • Examine the usefulness of a stakeholder map and learn how to effectively identify, communicate, negotiate, and influence stakeholders

Module 4

Project management fundamentals in complexity 1

  • Unpack and learn how to adapt your project in the modern world of VUCA
  • Create a project schedule and dive into dependencies and Agile
  • Learn how to effectively manage budgets and apply this to your project’s needs

Module 5

Project management fundamentals in complexity 2

  • Understand common project derailers such as scope creep, and learn how to identify and address these in your project
  • Uncover methods to manage priorities, including how to address team and cross-functional conflict
  • I dentify the elements of a progress report and create your own for your project

Module 6

Project governance and completion

  • Explore how governance can be applied to various project management methodologies and understand the components of good governance
  • Understand opportunities and the future of project management within your role and/or organisation
