Module 1

Introduction to product lifecycle management

  • Examine a product vision and strategy and understand its importance 

  • Explore the five stages of product lifecycle management 

  • Identify product opportunities and their value 

  • Understand your target customers and market competitors 

Module 2

Data and insights

  • Analyse the required data and insights necessary to achieve a product vision 

  • Identify key metrics, signals, targets and trends to support your product recommendation 

  • Understand various data types including market size, market pricing, and cost models 

Module 3

Product ideation

  • Brainstorm ideas for your product strategy 

  • Identify your performance benefits and how you stack up to competitors 

  • Validate your ideas through user testing and frame up a response to feedback received 

Module 4

Build the business case

  • Explore risk and impact assessment activities to support a product 

  • Uncover how to structure an investment plan  

  • Construct a go-to-market plan including a sales, channel, and distribution strategy 

Module 5

Product execution strategy

  • Execute your product strategy through a minimum viable product (MVP) and maximise customer value 

  • Review your product metrics and feedback, and develop a roadmap to address areas of improvement 

  • Scale and expand your MVP and build a high performing team 

Module 6

Pitch for capital and investment

  • Prepare for your pitch by understanding your audience, finalising content and practicing your pitch 

  • Reflect on your product pitch and explore the future of product management

Naomi SchofieldSubject matter expert

Our subject matter experts on this course include people like Naomi Schofield. Naomi is the ANZ Head of Strategy and Design at Tigerspike. Despite a PhD in atomic and molecular physics and background in academia, Naomi loves working in teams and solving real-world problems. As an agile consultant and analyst, Naomi has worked with NGOs, enterprise telecommunication companies, and a fair share of financial services organisations. In each case, she focused on defining success in terms of the customer and found ways to measure this success.

 

Michael RattenSubject matter expert

Michael Ratten is the Delivery Principal at Tigerspike. With over 10 years' experience leading the delivery of digital products, Michael is still eagerly learning new ways of solving problems, and thrives on the opportunity to work with new clients and industries. Michael is often engrossed in value-focused lean delivery principles and has previously mentored on RMIT Online's Agile for Project Management course. 

Tessa NgSubject matter expert

Tessa Ng has over 10 years’ experience in digital product and strategy across the retail, prop-tech and financial services industries. She specialises in building out strategies and experiences that support fluid and non-linear customer journeys to drive engagement, awareness, conversion and loyalty. She has experience in both leading product teams and product strategies across multiple streams, as well as hands-on experience working within agile squads. 

Blair DowdingSubject matter expert

Blair Dowding is currently a product manager in REA Group's customer product team. Blair has over 5 years' industry experience driving product roadmaps in both the airline and property advertising industries. Among Blairs specialties include product strategy, optimisation and experimentation, user research and how to help build high performing teams.
